Küstennebel - 24. Apr, 16:57

what's the difference between holiday(s) and vacation?
alex_blue - 25. Apr, 12:06

Regarding your question:
Holiday is a "Feiertag", vacation is "Urlaub". You say: she is on vacation, and this Thursday is a holiday.

But: is often mixed up, as you see in this stöckchen....

Do you know //dict.leo.org/ ? Good help for translating.

And I questioned leo for this: it says, holiday also can be "Erholungsurlaub"... ah, now I see: -vacation- is AmE (American english), -holiday- more BE (british english)

Hey, now I learned something for myself, too. Fine !!
Küstennebel - 25. Apr, 15:08

yes I know leo.org. It's really helpful - but I forgot to look this question up. Anyway I'm trying not to use leo very often because for my english-test I won't be able to use it also.
alex_blue - 25. Apr, 12:03

Hi Küstennebel,

nice idea to switch to english ! Good luck for your exercise.
Answer no. 13 is fine. My wishes, too !!

Greets, ALEX

thanks a lot! I'm making progress every day! (well, at least I think so...) =)
